From the hands of the Costa Rican artist Israel Zonzinski “Izzy”, is born a fusion of strength and movement charged with color and tinted with the transparent fragility of glass. 

Glass, that mysterious material which accompanies us in our daily life, has been the object of experimentation and creativity by this artist. He has generated a considerable exposition of “ Esthetic Objects “, with different forms and textures, who´s movement can only be described through the sense of sight and texture. Since 1996, he started experimenting with miniatures in glass with a blowtorch and little by little he has developed his own style with this exciting work.
It is interesting for people to see this technique. “My wife and I have traveled extensively, and have never seen unique creations like mine before. 

We have visited different galleries, but we haven´t found any works similar to these ones”, says the artist, who confesses that his need for experimentation led him to glass, where he discovered the “fusing” techniques through which he assembles glass of different colors, textures and shapes, then after a long firing and annealing process in the kiln, it becomes a work of art. 

The results are a unique fusion of soft and intense colors blending design, texture, gold, silver and Zonzinski’s creativity together. He admits that «there are almost always wonderful surprises» in the “compatibility” as the glass is born from the kiln and brought to the light, the color it had within. 

“They are very sensitive things, unpredictable factors that are mastered only with time, although sometimes, it is different from what was expected”, assures the artist. 

Israel Zonzinski is a businessman but he has art in his veins. “Up to this date I have never received a single lesson”, he says, although he admits he has been self-taught near outstanding United States glass artists and galleries, who call him “Izzy”, and so he adopted the name which he signs his works.
